The Bridgeton Fire Department normally staffs an engine company and a ladder company that operate out of a single firehouse.  Reports of a working fire in a structure or other significant emergency situations will summons the return of off duty personnel to staff additional apparatus.

Engine 701

  • Engine 701 responds as the primary engine company to emergency calls for motor vehicle accidents, arcing wires, trash fires, vehicle fires, medical assist and other minor incidents.  Engine 701 responds with Ladder 705 to all activated fire alarms, gas leaks and any dwelling or structure fires within the City.

Ladder 705

  • Ladder 705 responds with Engine 701 to all activated fire alarms, gas leaks and any dwelling or structure fires within the City.  Ladder 705 also responds to Deerfield, Fairfield, Hopewell, Lawrence and Stow Creek Townships for automatic mutual aid assignments. Ladder 705 is considered a quint meaning it has a pump, water tank, fire hose, ground ladders and an aerial ladder.  This enables Ladder 705 to function as both a engine company and ladder company when needed.

Engine 702

  • Engine 702 serves as a reserve pumper.  Fully equipped as a class "A" pumper, Engine 702 is available to serve as a primary unit when Engine 701 is out of service for maintenance or repairs.  Engine 702 can be staffed with off duty firefighters when they are called in for working fires or special assignments.

Brush 706

  • Brush 706 responds to all brush, grass, mulch and other difficult to access fires within the city.  This unit is often used in the City's 1100 acre park.  Firefighters from the ladder and/or engine company staff this unit as needed.
