Local Enforcing Agency
The Bridgeton Fire Department, as the local enforcing agency, is responsible for enforcement of the Uniform Fire Safety Act within the City of Bridgeton, New Jersey. Inspections are performed annually for life hazard and non-life hazards uses. Permits are issued by the Fire Official. All businesses within the City of Bridgeton must register with the Fire Prevention Bureau.
The Bureau of Fire Prevention is located at 15 Mayor Aitken Drive in Bridgeton.

Todd Bowen serves as the appointed fire official overseeing a staff of 3 fire inspectors, as well as 4 firefighters who also perform inspections. Inspectors work varying schedules, so if you need to contact them utilize their email or contact the Bureau of Fire Prevention at (856)451-4250. The office is staffed every day from 9am to 1pm.
